Forthcoming Strike Action

Dear Parents

Strike action – Wednesday 5th July and Friday 7th July

The academy has received notification from the NEU trade union that its members propose to take strike action on 5th July and Friday 7th July. This action relates to a national dispute.

A number of staff within the school are members of this union and therefore the school is affected by the strike action.

To plan for the strike action on Wednesday 5th July 2023 we have undertaken a risk assessment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students. We believe that we will not have enough members of staff to safely open the academy to all students. However, we will be open to select students, who will be contacted separately by our TAC team and students whose parents are key workers (if this applies to you please email info@kingsbolton.com).

All other students must remain at home during the days specified above, and a full day’s programme of online study will be provided. Details of this will be sent out to all
parents/students on Tuesday 4th July.

We hope that a clear decision will enable you to make plans ahead of the disruption expected. We will contact you again ahead of the planned future strike days.

Any student who receives free school meals and does not attend school due to the strike action will be able to collect a free lunch at the end of the day on Tuesday 4th July.

If there are any developments at a national level, and if strike action is averted, you will be notified.

I thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Crosby
Principal
