From September 2026, the Government has expanded the eligibility criteria for Free School Meals (FSM). This means all children from households receiving Universal Credit are now eligible, regardless of household income.

Yes!

Even if your child chooses not to have a school meal, it is still important to register if you are eligible. Registering means the school receives additional Government funding that is used to support your child's education and wider opportunities.
