Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the King's Leadership Academy Bolton from the Principal – Mr Jason Roberts.

Jason RobertsI am extremely proud to introduce myself as the new Principal for King’s Leadership Academy Bolton; King’s Bolton is a forward-thinking, highly ambitious and driven school. It is an enormous honour and privilege to work at such a special establishment.

At King's Leadership Academy Bolton, we pride ourselves on being able to make a substantial contribution to the education of our pupils in ensuring that they embody what Aristotle said over two thousand years ago “Excellence is a habit”.

Here at King’s, we believe that success is not predetermined and based on how ‘clever’ a student is. Instead, we believe that a successful life is formed through hard work and having a strong character. This is what we strive to create amongst our students every day at King’s. To achieve this, like Aristotle, we demand excellence in all our students do. Excellence in behaviour, excellence in attendance, excellence in appearance, excellence in effort, and excellence in all they do, both inside and outside the classroom.

Central to this pursuit of excellence is our ASPIRE code; the values which we seek to instil in each of our students each and every day.

  • Aspiration/Achievement is setting ourselves goals and not allowing ourselves to be limited by our circumstances.
  • Self-Awareness is understanding our strengths and the areas in which we need to improve.
  • Professionalism is knowing how to act in various circumstances.
  • Integrity is doing the right thing when no-one is looking.
  • Respect is being aware of how our actions affect all those around us, ourselves, our peers, our families and our communities.
  • Endeavour is working hard, not for a moment but over an extended period of time.

Looking at the best that has been thought and said, here at King’s Bolton we have carefully crafted a school designed to help our students to develop the academic skills, individual habits, qualities of character and leadership necessary to succeed at all levels. This is achieved through a knowledge-rich academic curriculum alongside a varied enrichment programme that includes music tuition, martial arts, public speaking, Cadets, First Aid, and Duke of Edinburgh, amongst many other activities.
