An in-year admission is an application for a school place made during the school year, or for admission to a year group other than the normal point of entry into Year 7.
In-year applications for King’s Leadership Academy Bolton are made through Bolton Council’s School Admissions Service.
Parents and carers wishing to apply for a place should complete an online in-year application through Bolton Council’s Citizen Portal.
Apply for an In-Year School Place
Applications can be made at any time during the academic year.
Once an application has been submitted, Bolton Council will process the application and liaise with the Academy as required. Applications are considered against the Academy’s published admission arrangements and availability within the relevant year group.
Bolton Council advises that in-year applications can take up to 15 school days to process.
If a place cannot be offered at King’s Leadership Academy Bolton, parents and carers will be informed of the outcome of their application and will have the right to appeal the decision.
Information will also be provided regarding waiting lists where applicable.
Waiting lists are maintained and prioritised in accordance with the Academy’s published oversubscription criteria. The length of time a child has been on the waiting list does not give additional priority.
Applications for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) are dealt with separately through the Local Authority’s SEND Team.
